About The Artist

Meet Taylor Rodriguez (Cabaniss) — the artist behind Simpsonville Artist. Taylor is a local artist, wife, and proud mom of three girls; Aubrey, Autumn, and Alejandra, who has turned her love of painting into a growing creative business serving families throughout the Upstate.

Over the past three years, Taylor has completed more than 260 custom portraits, with more to come. Her artwork has been featured on the news, and she has had the opportunity to paint live in communities throughout the Upstate, connecting with people and sharing her art beyond the walls of her studio.

Taylor is best known for her custom pet portraits, created to capture not only the appearance of a beloved pet, but also their personality. Her most popular style is her vibrant rainbow pet portrait, but every piece can be customized to fit the client and their home. She also offers natural-color portraits, black-and-white portraits, and grayscale portraits with soft pastel pops of color.

Her work goes beyond pets. Taylor also creates Rearview Portraits, a sentimental style that captures loved ones from behind as though they are walking together into the canvas. These pieces can represent couples, children, families, and other meaningful relationships in a simple and timeless way.

She also creates custom Ultrasound Portraits, transforming a special ultrasound image into a hand-painted piece of artwork that can be treasured long after that tiny image first appeared on the screen.

When she isn't painting, Taylor is running another business, Greenville Gala, alongside her husband, Alejandro. Together, Taylor and Alejandro own and operate the Upstate event-rental business, making entrepreneurship very much a family affair.

#theRoadTo800

Taylor's art has also become part of a much bigger personal journey. She recently began her #TheRoadTo800 campaign, a mission to work toward an 800 credit score while creating a stronger financial future for herself and her family.

A major part of that journey is using the income she earns through her artwork to pay down and eliminate her student debt. Instead of allowing past debt to define her family's future, Taylor is using something she loves, creating art, as a tool to change it.

Every portrait ordered supports more than a small local art business. It becomes another step toward reducing debt, building stronger credit, and reaching that 800 credit score goal.

For Taylor, #TheRoadTo800 represents progress, determination, and the belief that small steps can eventually create a very different future. She is bringing her clients along for that journey — one canvas at a time.
